How do we define a Long Distance Relationship?

Being in a LDR has made me sceptical and critical of other people’s relationships when they say they are “long distance”.
It really annoys me when my friends complain that they haven’t seen their other halves for a few days and that they really miss them. Or worse still, when they live in the same house but they haven’t seen each other for three days because their shifts don’t coincide. Well boo-hoo! There are 1,731 miles between us. We can’t visit each other by car or train. We can’t even book a last-minute flight to see each other because we both live in countries that requires visas. And visas take time. They take money. And if you’re refused, they take your soul.
So please, just shut up about how long you haven’t seen your partner, because believe me, I will win. And in winning, I lose. End of rant.
